The List : WINTER ’16 | 17

Cold comfort…

We love all things leopard, always have, always will. So, it was no surprise that this beauty caught our eye. Further inspection had us wondering whether it was the real deal, but at $169, it’s both pocketbook and PETA friendly. We made sure to add this Zara bad boy to our winter wardrobe before they could say the words “sold out,” and so should you.

Some of our favorite Vogue magazine photographs over the years are the brainchild of fashion editor, Phyllis Posnick. These are the images that have stayed with us, the ones that push the limits. Often disturbingly beautiful, and always unforgettable, they take fashion photography to another level. It’s no coincidence that they are shot by the likes of Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchelier, Irving Penn, Annie Leibovitz, Mario Testino and Bruce Weber. Stoppers: Photographs from My Life at Vogue captures it all, and gives behind the scenes details on the shoots. Get it for that friend who appreciates all things beautiful, or better yet, get it for yourself.

Once you’ve spotted Fork in the Road, it’s not hard to remember the name of our latest go-to spot in Santa Monica. From the minute we walked in the door we felt right at home in this cozy, but hip, hidden gem. With its creative menu of farm-to-table, organic offerings and interesting wines by the glass, decisions were not easy. The presentation is fresh and original and our personal standouts include the Garbanzo Chips, the Roasted Spanish Octopus, the Squash Blossoms, the NY Strip Steak and the Chick on the Farm. Restaurant impresario, Spoon Singh knows how to create the perfect relaxed environment with the great tasting food to match. It’s what will keep us coming back again and again.

Herb Ritts : Super

The late-great, self-taught photographer, Herb Ritts’ images have always taken our breath away. He was instrumental in ushering in the era of the supermodel and his signature use of natural light makes us understand why. In the Herb Ritts: Super exhibition, 90’s models Stephanie Seymour, Cindy Crawford, Christie Turlington, Tatjana Patitz and Naomi Campbell never looked more Super. The exhibit’s rare, vintage gelatin silver prints are stunning and definitely inspire us to stick with our New Year’s resolutions. The show runs through January 27 at London’s Hamiltons Gallery, which has a long-standing relationship with the Herb Ritts Foundation benefitting AIDS research. Make sure to catch it while you can!

Tom-Dixon-Champagne-Bar-Los-AngelesWhile minding our own business, checking out the new open-air shopping scene at Culver City’s Platform, we unexpectedly stumbled upon a fabulous new joint venture between fashion-forward boutique, Curve and British furniture and lighting designer Tom Dixon. We were drawn in by the gorgeous window designs, and once L.A. studio manager, Tyler Hamilton filled us in on the details about the soon-to-be-opened Champagne Bar, we knew a return trip would be in order.  Currently available for special events only, the Champagne (and coffee) Bar will be open to all in February. We’re counting down the days!
